Who can apply?
Artists based in Austria looking to share their research or experiments in the field of dance and performance.
What can be submitted?
Experiments in live-performance, 15 - 20 minutes long, requiring little technical support. Finished works will not be considered.
Following Conditions apply
On Monday, 25.05.24 (for the evening 03.06) or 24.06.24 (for the evening 01.07.), 10:00 there is a preliminary meeting with all participants live at TheaterArche. At this meeting all artists introduce themselves and their works , after which the running order of the performance evening and the rehearsals are discussed. This meeting is mandatory for all Viennese based artists and is a requirement for participation at Raw Matters.
Artists receive rehearsal space at the Raw Matters Studio from
23.05. - 02.06 // 20. - 30.06
Each artist receives a financial contribution of 200 Euros, however
- All artists need to be actively performing on stage at the performance evening
- The amount is based on an equal collaboration between performance artists, choreographers/directors, live- sound/video designers.
- We cannot consider technicians, costume designers, production support or any other people that are not actively performing in the project (exception: director, choreographer - present during rehearsals and performance)
- We reserve the right not to pay a higher fee, if the collaboration for the participation at Raw Matters is not clear.
Travel and accommodation costs can not be covered.
Raw Matters does not tolerate works that are racist, misogynist, homophobe in nature and we reserve the right to refuse the presentation of such works.

Proposals that include a short description of your idea, approximate length and short CVs of all participating artists and contact information can be submitted via the following link. We can only accept ONE application per artist!
